Full Steam Ahead: Panorama, Test Manager a Hot Summer

Hello, YouTrack community and everyone interested in YouTrack.

It's time for another update from the engine room. First, the biggest news: We've just released our second Early Access app, Panorama YouTrack.

It’s pretty hot outside at the end of June 2026. And things feel much the same here internally right now. We’re currently developing two major YouTrack apps in parallel and are deliberately showcasing both publicly at an early stage. Not because we want to release unfinished products, but because we want to show what we’re working on.

The issue of data sovereignty isn't going away. Quite the opposite, in fact. More and more companies are paying very close attention to where their data is stored and processed. We're now working with a wide variety of customers—from small teams to larger companies and even institutions. Most of the questions we're getting right now revolve around YouTrack and migrating away from the Atlassian ecosystem.

With our app Panorama , we bring resource planning on a horizontal timeline to YouTrack. Individual issues are visualized there, planned across days, weeks, months, or quarters. This allows project managers, team leads, or entire teams to see more quickly when tasks are due and who currently has what workload. This is a view that YouTrack hasn’t offered before.

We view the app as a flexible planning view for resources at the organizational, project, team, or group level. Various boards can be fine-tuned later on. This allows you to switch between different perspectives without having to start over each time.

The interface is based on a horizontal timeline. You can scroll through it the traditional way, but you can also use touch controls. Anyone familiar with apps like Big Picture from the Jira ecosystem will quickly grasp the basic concept—only this time, it’s for YouTrack and uses our own approach.

Our Test Manager is continuing to take shape. Version 1.0 is getting closer. It won’t yet be able to do everything that the major test management solutions on the market can do today. But the app is getting better week by week. It’s important to us that the Test Manager like YouTrack. Not like a separate tool that’s just tacked on somehow. Test cases, test suites, test runs, and history should integrate seamlessly into the way YouTrack works. That’s exactly what we’re working on intensively right now.

It’s been a huge help that we’ve been able to expand our development team. Two new colleagues have already joined us on their first projects and are helping to develop our current apps. You can tell right away. Things are really picking up, and some projects that had long been just plans are now becoming a reality.

There’s also a lot going on in the partner community. We’re in close contact with other developers in the German-speaking and European YouTrack communities. Part of this involves figuring out who’s working on which topics and where collaboration makes sense. That feels good because the market for YouTrack apps is still wide open. There are lots of ideas, many gaps, and still a great deal of potential.

After the summer, the coming fall will also be an exciting time for us. In October, we’ll be in Frankfurt with our own booth at this year’s IT Entrepreneurs’ Day. All in all, this is a very exciting time for us right now. A lot is happening. It's exhausting, but it's also good for us.
