Panorama professional resource management to YouTrack and fills a key gap for teams that manage multiple projects or clients simultaneously. While YouTrack is excellent for task and issue tracking, it previously lacked a dedicated view of cross-project capacity and employee utilization—and that’s exactly where Panorama comes Panorama .

The app aggregates data from YouTrack tickets (assigned team members, time estimates, time entries, project and organizational assignments) and displays it on a horizontal timeline for planning purposes.

Planning on Custom Panorama Boards

Instead of a single fixed view, you can create as many " Panorama" boards as you like, similar to the Agile boards in YouTrack. Each board has its own name, its own scope, and its own permissions. This way, team leadership works on a different board than account management.

A tabular timeline with team members on the Y-axis and time (days/weeks/months/quarters) on the X-axis. This lets you see at a glance what your team is working on and keep track of parallel project assignments. You can enter time spent directly on the ticket card on the board, without having to go through the ticket details view. You can move and extend tickets on the timeline using drag-and-drop, even when they span longer periods of time.

Ads Tailored to Your Taste

You can adjust the display density of the board continuously from compact to large. The content of the cards is also configurable: You can specify which fields appear on a ticket card so that the board displays exactly the information that matters for your planning.

The utilization display shows the scheduled time based on time estimates and assignments and can be configured for each board: either counting up from zero or counting down from the available capacity, so you can immediately see the remaining free capacity.

Even unassigned tickets remain visible: The "Unassigned" rows have their own workload indicator, which shows the total of all open tasks. This ensures that unplanned work is not left out of the calculation.

Flexible Configuration

In the app settings, administrators can define standard weekly hours and enter individual exceptions for part-time employees, ensuring that the workload calculation matches actual working hours. Panorama designed as the main app for the YouTrack sidebar, providing a permanently accessible entry point for all resource planning scenarios.

These exceptions can be assigned a validity period, ensuring that even temporary arrangements—such as a temporary reduction in hours—are correctly factored in. The workload calculation adjusts accordingly.

This is determined by the scope of planning for each " Panorama" board: For each board, you specify which subset of your YouTrack data will be planned there. Additional smart filters to further narrow the selection within a board are planned for a future release.
