Frequently asked questions

What is the app for?

It allows you to create, edit and embed Draw.io diagrams or SVG graphics directly in issues and knowledge base articles.

Can I import existing .drawio files?

Yes, upload the file in the editor or drag and drop it into an issue.

Are changes and adjustments saved automatically?

Yes, with version 2.1.0 we have introduced a function for automatically saving adjustments to diagrams. Now nothing gets lost by mistake. The function can be deactivated in the app settings.

Where are the diagrams located?

The diagram data is saved as attachments in the respective issue or article and therefore remains within your instance.

Does the app support real-time collaboration?

Parallel editing is not possible. However, several users can save one after the other. YouTrack provides each change with a version history.

Are there any size or format restrictions?

The maximum file size corresponds to the attachment limit defined in your YouTrack instance.

Which version is required?

The app requires YouTrack version 2024.3.0 or higher. The current version of the app is 2.1.0 (as of September 22, 2025).
