The dependence on global cloud services such as AWS or other US providers poses major challenges for European companies with major challenges. Data protection, GDPR compliance and digital independence are issues that are increasingly coming into focus - not least due to current developments in the world.

In Christopher Müller-Dönnhoff's keynote speech at the DIGITAL FUTUREcongress on March 20, 2025, we addressed precisely this issue and explained in a practical way why digital sovereignty is becoming increasingly important. We used the practical example of the the effects of the Atlassian license changes, which are forcing many companies into the Atlassian Cloud, and presented JetBrains YouTrack a possible alternative.
