What can our Article Approval app do?

Our app enables a clear, traceable approval process for knowledge articles - with targeted invitations, decisions and discussion directly on the article.

An approval process or an acknowledgement can be started easily: Open article, start action above the comment area, select one or more people and request "Approval" or "Acknowledgement". The invited persons receive notifications and can approve/confirm or reject the article directly from the message or article. The "Approved" status is only achieved if all invited approvers have fully approved the item. The status is then changed automatically.

In addition to the request for approval, a simple acknowledgement can also be requested. While the Approval function is a binding release, Acknowledgement is a confirmation of acknowledgement. An important difference in the hierarchy level.

Of course, the article can also be "rejected" if changes are desired, information is missing or similar. The rejection is documented and visible in the article. The article is then considered "not approved". There is also the option of adding a reason within the comments. The app is directly integrated here so that context and discussion remain together. YouTrack articles can be edited as usual throughout the entire process. Changes are visible to all participants at all times and can be re-evaluated.

The twenty20 Article Approval App supports companies in systematically securing documented information. The approval process for knowledge articles is clear, comprehensible and collaborative - directly on the article. As of today, the requirements of ISO 9001, 27001 and/or 14001 are fulfilled with regard to documented information.

How to use it - start with a free trial

Our twenty20 Article Approval App is available free of charge for users with an active YouTrack instance for a 30-day trial. Download via the JetBrains Marketplace(direct link). The app integrates seamlessly below the content area of your articles. With just a few clicks, you can invite colleagues to approve or confirm. All functions can be used and tested during the trial phase.

After the end of the trial phase - licensing

At the end of the test phase, there are two options for continuing:

• YouTrack instances for up to 10 users: Usage remains free, but a license is required after the trial period (available in the twenty20 store ).
• Larger YouTrack instances: 10+ instances require an annual subscription at fair prices. After the 30-day trial period, you will need to purchase a license through our website and activate it in the app settings of your YouTrack instance to continue using the Article Approval app.

We will of course inform our users about the end of the trial phase, and no new installation is required if a follow-up license is purchased. Activation takes place via the already installed trial version.

Why we have opted for licensing

Not only are we a member of "fair-digital", twenty20 as a company lives fair digitalization through and through. That is why we have gladly made our previously published YouTrack apps available free of charge. These apps will continue to be available free of charge with the current state of development.

But fairness is not a one-way street. The bigger our YouTrack apps become, the more extensive the service provided by the app, the higher the development costs. Only appropriate and fair payment enables us to continue to be and remain the most active YouTrack app developer (beyond JetBrains itself). But that's not all - the continuous maintenance and further development of our apps is just as important to us. This is the only way we can ensure that they are always set to the latest YouTrack version and integrate seamlessly.
